On 10 August, EasyStepUK hosted our first community workshop at Hartley Court Hub.
Around ten children and their families joined us to explore the world of oil painting.
Meet our tutor, Mr. Xue, a well-known artist and educator.
He began with the basics: colour, light, and brushwork—keeping theory simple, practical, and fun.
Then, brushes up! Everyone tried their own version of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers.
What started as blank canvases soon became bold, joyful paintings.
Parents painted alongside their children, sharing tips, laughs, and a few happy accidents.
By the end, every participant took home a piece of art and a big boost of confidence.
Thank you to Hartley Court Hub for the space and support, and to Mr. Xue for inspiring the next generation of young artists.
