Starting an ESOL class can feel unfamiliar, but you do not need perfect English to join.
At a first session, the tutor may ask about your current English level and what you want to improve. Activities can include speaking, listening, reading, writing and practical vocabulary for daily life.
Helpful things to bring:
• A notebook and pen
• Any registration information requested by the organiser
• Questions about words or situations you find difficult
• Your glasses or hearing support if needed
It is normal to make mistakes. Regular attendance and practising between classes usually help more than trying to be perfect.
