Ages 18–22 · England · Pilot in development
Build practical food and digital skills with EasyStepUK. Our proposed youth pilot combines hands-on food preparation, teamwork and creative media, helping young people prepare for further learning and work.
We are seeking funding and inviting expressions of interest. Dates, venue and funded places are not yet confirmed.
Young people aged 18–22 living in England, including young migrants and newcomers interested in food, creativity or digital media. No business experience is needed. We plan to use accessible English, practical demonstrations and bilingual support where available.
Our proposed eight-session programme follows a product from the kitchen to a small portfolio:
Make: practise food preparation, safe working, teamwork and reducing waste.
Plan: calculate ingredient costs, create a simple menu and practise customer conversations.
Create: take product photographs and plan, film and edit a short promotional video.
Share: present your work, receive feedback and explore further training opportunities.
Participants would work towards a costed food product, a menu, photographs and a short video. Tutor feedback would help them recognise progress in practical skills, communication and working with others.
You would not need to appear in a public video to take part. This is a proposed learning programme, not a guaranteed qualification, job or business start-up award.
Tell us what you would like to learn and what would help you attend. Use the email button on this page and mention “Youth pilot 18–22” in your message. Please do not send identity documents at this stage.
We also welcome enquiries from food tutors, digital trainers, community kitchens and referral partners.
This is a distinct youth pilot within the developing Food Enterprise & Skills Academy. The wider Academy explores food enterprise and self-employment for adults; this pilot focuses on practical learning for ages 18–22.
